Welcome!Overeaters Anonymous is a fellowship of people who, through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from the disease of eating compulsively. The only requirement for membership is the desire to stop eating compulsively. OA is a 12-step group based on the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. We change only the words "alcohol" and "alcoholic" to "food" and "compulsive eating". From this page you can find out more about the Oregon Intergroup and about OA meetings and activities in the northern Oregon and southern Washington area. Are You a Compulsive Eater? If you know you are a compulsive eater, we invite you to find a meeting nearby and attend. We encourage newcomers to attend at least six meetings before deciding whether OA is right for you or not. It's preferable to attend several different meetings, since each meeting has its own character and you may find that one particular group that meets your needs better than another. If you aren't sure if you are a compulsive eater, ask yourself the 15 Questions, which can help you decide if this program is right for you. Newcomers MeetingThere is a monthly Newcomers Meeting held the last Saturday of every month from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the below address:
Newcomers are always welcome at any and all Overeaters Anonymous meetings. Oregon IntergroupThe Oregon Intergroup is a fellowship of OA groups in northern Oregon and southwest Washington. While individual meetings serve individual OA's, an Intergroup serves the needs of the meetings, by providing services that would be difficult for an individual meeting to provide, such as meeting schedules, literature, marathons and retreats.
